Splendid Sight-seeing in Posong

Hey there,
Last week, I went to a place where splendid sight-seeings were provided for free! It’s called POSONG. Yep, P.O.S.O.N.G. Posong is a sight-seeing point located in the slope of SINDORO mt
. (3150 meters). From my home, you just need about 30 minutes to get there!

On that morning, we planned to start the journey after Subuh to avoid the fog. At that stage, we still could not see any sunlight
yet. So we postponed it till 8 a.m.

Okay, it's almost 8.am in the morning. The sunlight was pretty god. My friend picked me up then we started reach the destination. On the way, with the other two friends of mine, we dropped by the “Bakul Sego Kluban” (as you can see the pict. below) near the Cegawen Gasoline Station (5 mnts from my home) to buy our breakfast . My friends told me that we won't find any food above in Posong, so we prepared them beforehand.

Pict 1. The “Bakul Kluban” (a.k.a Penjual Sayuran Urap) is selling the food to the consumers. She sells red rice (nasi merah), perkedel, tempong, sayuran godog and its special bumbu made from grated coconut.

To be able to reach Posong, we should go through the Parakan-Wonoso st. until we reached Paponan District.  Then you would find a sign in which it told you to enter a small road on the right (from Parakan). The sign was big and familiar enough for the passers by. I believe you would find it easily.
(I am sorry since cannot provide you with the picture of the sign, I forgot to take the pict! LoL)

Pict. 2 and 3 The rocking path we should pass to reach Posong. The rock were arranged pretty good; make us easy to reach the point.

Right after I entered the road, I was welcomed by the outstanding scenery of the Posong’s coffee plantation farms! I passed through rocking path with a motorcycle. As a suggestion, to those who love to ride an automatic motorcycle, try to ride in constant speed since you gonna past an up-and-down hill. It will help you to save the gasoline and also the performance of your bike. Low shift is also a preferable choice of riding this rocking path.

On my way, I was totally amazed with the view on my left and right. They were so geoegeus! I felt like I am on a small village in Ireland! Wow.. ho.. ho.. ho...
Since the farm located in the slope of  mountain, they designed the planting in a terracing way. So good! Moreover, I could see the up and down hills which create some views like in Austria!
It's sound like I was exaggerate the way I see, but unfortunately, it was TRUE!

Pict. 4, 5, 6, 7. The village farm you will see through the road. In one of the farm, I saw a unique cave used to store the natural fertilizer (Pict. 7). So Flintstones!! LoL

We continued the journey until the sightseeing point a.k.a Gardu Pandang Posong. The nature greeted us with its typical mountain summer breeze; very cool and relaxing! Fortunately, the place had its own parking area and toilet. However, no water were provided in the toilet!  Poor facility..  (typical Indonesian LoL)

Pict. 8. I took this picture in one of the gazebo.

Pict. 9. My friends had their breakfast in the gazebo while enjoy the sight-seeing round about them.  What a life!  Gazebo location : up hill

Pict. 9. The second gazebo, located down hill, near the parking lot.

Posong provided us with two huge wooden gazebos . One was located near the parking lot, and the other one was located up on the hill (see the position through pict. 9). We needed some steps to get to it. Having picnic with the family can be an preferable activity that can be done in Posong. Or, should you need different atmosphere for your meeting then Posong is a good choice. The gazebo can be used for more than 30 people at maximum. Still, the food and drink should be well prepare first at home.

I do hope that in the future, the governance will pay attention to the potential tourism activity in Posong and I do hope that the visitors will also pay attention to where they should throw their rubbish one so that Posong will always stay clean.

So, to anyone who read this post, I welcome you all to visit Posong.
Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere up there!

Happy Travelling!
